Top-Level Training Sessions and Classes for Dogs and Cats
Partner with Somers Pet Behavior Solutions and Consulting in East Tennessee in improving your relationship with your animal companions. Our services range from private coaching and day training to workshops.
Private Coaching
We will first conduct an initial consultation to learn more about your pet. Then, we will develop a unique training and management plan tailored to you and your fur baby’s needs. Through this, we can help you have a more enjoyable life with your pet.
One of our team members will then go to your home and instruct you on how to perform the training and implement any management recommendations.
Virtual consultations and training sessions via Zoom are also available upon request.
$75.00–$200.00
Day Training
After an initial consultation, we will provide a unique training and management plan tailored to your family's needs. One of our staff members will visit your home and conduct the training with your pet. This service is usually carried out twice a week.
Then, once a week, the same or another staff will return and meet with the family to instruct them on how to reinforce and maintain the new behaviors. Through this, we hope to help make living with your pet more enjoyable.
$150.00–$200.00
Topic Classes
For these sessions, we only meet once a week. These are targeted at only one specific skill and are offered continuously. Our classes include walking politely on a leash, developing a strong recall, and greeting manners.
Our clients can pay per session. The classes have rolling enrollment, but registration is necessary to keep class sizes small.
$50.00–$70.00 per class
Reactive Dog Classes
We also have classes for dogs that need space to feel comfortable. These sessions meet once a week for four weeks. A consultation with our staff is required before enrollment to determine if a class setting is appropriate for your pet.
For safety reasons, eligible dogs need to be fitted with:
$300.00- $400.00
The price of a connector is in the class registration fee. We will have it delivered on the schedule of your initial consultation.
In addition, dogs with a bite history to animals or people will be required to wear a basket muzzle from the time they exit the vehicle when they arrive until they get back into the vehicle to leave. We provide muzzle training upon request.
We believe that aggression is never cured, and no guarantees are implied that the pet will be safe in public or their homes after attending our classes. Life-long management is typically necessary to ensure public safety.
All clients will be required to sign a contract releasing Somers Pet Behavior Solutions and Consulting from any liability.
Dogs with "protection" training, uncontrollable lunging, and aggression toward people and dogs beyond 10 feet will be ineligible for this class. Consultation with us can be scheduled to discuss options and recommendations for behavior modification for dogs that do not qualify for the class setting.
Fearful Dog Classes
We also have classes that cater to the needs of dogs that have a low to moderate level of fear. These sessions meet once a week for four weeks.
Pet parents are required to consult with us before enrollment to determine if a class setting is appropriate for your pet. Consultations can be arranged to tackle options and recommendations for behavior modification for dogs that do not qualify for the class setting.
$300.00- $400.00

Our half-day and full-day workshops generally target one specific area of interest. They typically focus on entry-level competition performance training, animal behavior topics, and animal care and welfare.
